In Jerusalem, the Assumptionist community brings to life one of the most visited sites in Jerusalem, where the Church commemorates Peter’s denial.
Since war has ravaged the Holy Land, all the Christian communities living there have sought to be silent witnesses to a call for peace and brotherhood.
This post allows us to experience a country where our religious history has its roots.

Volunteers work with the brothers and sisters of the Assumption for a period ranging from one month to one year.
They help welcome and serve pilgrims. The main thing is to give them a spiritual break in the Church or in the garden, depending on their needs. It’s important for them to find clean, pleasant places to pray, where they can live in calm and silence.
Some wish to extend this experience, and ask for a stay in the hotel. Guests appreciate the presence of those who live here, not only for their well-being in the house, but also to chat and share their day. Because the aim of volunteering is not to do something, but rather to leave with a strong human and spiritual experience.
That said, being there for pilgrims takes many forms, right down to the most concrete activity: welcoming them and guiding them around the site, offering them hot or cold drinks, showing them around the souvenir store and sometimes simply listening to them.
